We are fervently supporting environmental activist Sandro Canovas in his pivotal mission to safeguard the Sotol plant, uphold the Chihuahua desert ecosystem, and shield the heritage of sotol drink from unscrupulous commercialization and cultural appropriation. Having recently aided Sandro in discussions with a major Mexican liquor firm, we brought to light gaps in transparency, potential unethical sourcing, and non-sustainable practices.

Our commitment is further underscored as we assemble a consortium of experts—ranging from scientists and agroecologists to anthropologists—to guide corporations towards holistic and ethical practices in Sotol cultivation and production. Our endeavor seeks to harmonize cultural traditions with commerce, amplifying the voices and ensuring the prosperity of the communities at the heart of Sotol's legacy.
